A three movement work for full orchestra, Heart Attack tells the story of a man named Howard, who has a heart attack while out for a drive. The piece uses an array of orchestral instruments, especially percussion, to imitate the sounds of a man waking up in the morning, the sounds of a country drive, a car crash, a ride in an ambulance, and a night at the hospital.
